As part of the enriching journey of the YPAC Beijing programme, participants continued their cultural exploration with visits to two of Beijing’s most iconic landmarks — the National Centre for the Performing Arts and the historic Temple of Heaven.
Earlier in the day, participants had the opportunity to visit the renowned National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA), one of the most prestigious cultural venues in Beijing. Known for its striking modern architecture and world-class performance spaces, the centre hosts a wide range of international performances including opera, ballet, orchestral concerts, and theatre productions. Walking through this iconic arts venue allowed participants to experience the beauty and scale of professional performing arts up close, offering them valuable inspiration as young artists.
Being inside such a globally recognized arts institution gave the participants a deeper appreciation for stage production, artistic excellence, and the dedication behind world-class performances. It also encouraged them to imagine the possibilities of one day performing on international stages themselves.
The cultural journey continued with a visit to the historic Temple of Heaven, one of China’s most significant cultural heritage sites. Built during the Ming Dynasty, the Temple of Heaven was traditionally used by emperors to perform sacred ceremonies and prayers for good harvests. Today, it stands as an important symbol of Chinese history, philosophy, and architectural beauty.
